Prof. Dr. Nazrina Khatun is a seasoned oncologist and researcher, currently serving as Professor and Head in the Department of Medical Oncology at the National Institute of Cancer Research & Hospital (NICRH), Dhaka. She earned her MBBS from Rajshahi Medical College in 1989 and completed her MD in Radiotherapy from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in 2006. With over two decades of progressive clinical experience across Bangladesh’s major health institutions, Dr. Khatun has held key roles in cancer diagnosis, treatment, and academic training. Her research contributions include studies on breast cancer, colorectal cancer, and head and neck malignancies, with published work in peer-reviewed national journals. Her MD thesis explored the comparative efficacy of chemoradiation approaches in hypopharyngeal cancer. A life member of both the Medical Oncology Society of Bangladesh (MOSB) and the Bangladesh Cancer Society (BCS). She has been selected as Convener of Best of ASCO in Bangladesh & MOSB Congress for the last three consecutive years. Dr. Khatun is committed to advancing oncology education and evidence-based cancer care in Bangladesh.
