Prof. Dr. Abul Ahsan Didar

Dr. Md. Abul Ahsan is a senior medical oncologist with over three decades of experience in cancer care, public health, and medical education. Currently serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Medical Oncology at Ahsania Mission Cancer & General Hospital, he has played a pivotal role in advancing oncology services in Bangladesh. Dr. Ahsan completed his MBBS from Chittagong Medical College in 1984, followed by an MD in Radiotherapy from BSMMU in 2005 and an MPH from NIPSOM in 1995. He further specialized in Palliative Medicine through a WHO-accredited program in Kerala. A key milestone in his career includes establishing a 60-bed oncology ward at Shaheed Suhrawardi Medical College in collaboration with the Government of Turkey. His expertise spans clinical oncology, public health, and palliative care. Known for his leadership, academic contributions, and dedication to patient-centered cancer care, Dr. Ahsan is recognized as a pioneer in Bangladesh’s oncology landscape.
